SPEAKERS


Derek Beane, CFA, Director and Investment Product Specialist in the Global Product group at MFS Investment Management

As an investment product specialist, he works closely with the portfolio management teams and is responsible for communicating investment philosophy, process and the positioning of MFS investment strategies and for providing investment perspective to financial advisors and MFS’ sales force and relationship managers. Before joining the firm in 2014, Derek spent seven years at John Hancock Investments, most recently as a portfolio specialist and director – senior investment analyst. In this role he served as a fund expert, articulating fund philosophy, process and positioning to the John Hancock Investment Board of Directors as well as internal and external constituents. Before that, Derek served for five years as an investment research analyst and financial analyst at Fidelity Investments, working closely with Fidelity’s defined contribution group. Derek earned an MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. He holds Series 7 and 63 licenses from the Financial Industry
Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Karsten Bierre, Portfolio Manager and Head of Fixed Income Allocation, Nordea Asset Management 

Karsten Bierre holds a Master degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen. He started his career with Danske Bank in 1994, where he began as an assistant economist and later became a senior economist, responsible for US and Danish research. He joined Nordea Markets in 2001, where he was in charge of the euro area primarily targeting institutional clients as adviser on the global economic and financial outlook. Concurrently, with positions in the banking sector Karsten has been affiliated with the Institute of Economics, University of Copenhagen, as an Assistant Professor and External Examiner.

Sasho Bogoevski, Managing Director—Multi-Asset Solutions, AB

Sasho Bogoevski is Managing Director of Multi-Asset Solutions, overseeing the development of quantitative equities within AB’s Multi-Asset Group. In his previous role, he was responsible for institutional and sub-advisory relationships in the UK and Ireland. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Bogoevski was a director at Lazard Asset Management, where he was responsible for client service and sales in the UK and parts of Europe. From 1996 to 2002, he was head of business development for Lazard in Australia. Bogoevski has also worked as a senior investment consultant with Mercer and Jacques Martin Hewitt in Australia, and as a director at Prudential Corporate Markets. He holds a BEc and a BA in politics from the Australian National University. Location: New York

Aymo Brunetti, Professor für Wirtschaftspolitik und Regionalökonomie am Departement Volkswirtschaftslehre der Universität Bern und Leiter des vom Bundesrat eingesetzten Beirates Zukunft Finanzplatz

Aymo Brunetti ist ordentlicher Professor am Departement Volkswirtschaftslehre der Universität Bern und Direktor des Center for Regional Economic Development (CRED) derselben Universität. Zudem leitet er den vom Bundesrat eingesetzten Beirat zur Zukunft des Finanzplatzes Schweiz.
Er studierte Nationalökonomie an der Universität Basel, wo er 1992 doktorierte und sich 1996 habilitierte. 1994/1995 verbrachte er ein Jahr als Visiting Scholar am Department of Economics der Harvard University. 1999 trat er ins Eidgenössische Volkswirtschafsdepartement ein, wo er zunächst im Staatssekretariat für Wirtschaft (SECO) den Leistungsbereich Wirtschaftspolitische Grundlagen leitete. 2003 übernahm er die Leitung der Direktion für Wirtschaftspolitik im SECO und übte diese Position bis zu seinem Wechsel an die Universität Bern 2012 aus. In den Jahren 2013 und 2014 war er Präsident der beiden Expertengruppen des Bundes für die Weiterentwicklung der Schweizer Finanzmarktstrategie.

Ludovic Colin, Senior Portfolio Manager, Vontobel Asset Management

Ludovic Colin ist seit Juni 2015 bei Vontobel Asset Management als Senior Portfoliomanager sowie als Devisen- und Zinsspezialist tätig. Er ist stellvertretender Portfoliomanager des Vontobel Fund - Bond Global Aggregate.

Zuvor war er sechs Jahre als Cross Asset Macro Spezialist bei Goldman Sachs in London verantwortlich für Makro Themen. Von 2006 bis 2009 war er FX Macro Portfoliomanager bei Credit Agricole AM in London. Ludovic startete seine Karriere im Jahr 1998 als Devisenhändler bei Crédit Lyonnais AM, Paris, gefolgt von verschiedenen Positionen im Devisenhandel bei der Deutschen Bank, Morgan Stanley und Lehman Brothers.

Ludovic verfügt über einen Masterabschluss in Finance der Universität Orléans, Frankreich und einen Abschluss in Volkswirtschaft und Geopolitik der Universität Poitiers, Frankreich.

Sandra Crowl, Member of the Investment Committee, Carmignac

Sandra Crowl joined Carmignac in 2007 and currently holds the positions of Portfolio Advisor and Member of the Investment Committee. She started her career at Bankers Trust Australia in 1987. In 1991, she transferred to the Paris office to manage the Foreign Exchange team. In 1993, she transferred to the London office where she was appointed Managing Director for the European Foreign Exchange team. In 2003, she shifted to the fund management industry and co-founded New Alpha Advisers, a subsidiary of the alternative funds boutique ADI.

Sandra Crowl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from the University of Melbourne. She is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) since 2007.

Mario Eisenegger, Investment Specialist, M&G Investments

Mario Eisenegger joined M&G in February 2015 as an associate investment specialist providing support for the retail fixed interest fund range. He was previously an associate director at UBS, where he was a senior client advisor to private clients and a deputy branch manager. Mario holds a bachelor of science from the University of Northwestern Switzerland. Mario speaks German and Swiss German.

Mark Fitzgerald, Senior Manager Product Development, Vanguard Investments Switzerland GmbH

Mark Fitzgerald joined Vanguard in December 2013 as Head of Product, Europe. Mark's current role covers day-to-day responsibilities of Product Development, Europe, managing the team and key product research and development in Europe.

Mark joined from BlackRock/ BGI where he spent 8 years in the Portfolio Management Group in various senior roles, lastly as a Managing Director and European Head of iShares Portfolio Management and European lead for the Beta Strategies Index Research Group. Prior to BlackRock's acquisition of BGI, Mark was Head of Pooled Funds Equity Portfolio Management and the Index team's total return swap programme. Prior to BGI Mark spent 7 years as a quantitative equity and fixed income portfolio manager at Deutsche Asset Management and Northern Trust. Mark holds a BA Hons in Business Studies and International Finance from South Bank University, London

Franz Gysin, selbständig, Beratungen für Asset Allocation, Risikomanagement, Alternative- und komplexe Finanzanlagen, Anlageprozesse

Franz Gysin war während den letzten 35 Jahren als Fachspezialist (Börsenhandel, Portfolio- / Risikomanagement, Asset Allokation (institutionelle Anleger), Anlagefondsanalyse, etc.) beschäftigt. Er war verantwortlich für die Implementierung von Hedge-Funds  in den  Vermögensverwaltungsmandaten der UBS weltweit (ohne USA). Im 2004 hat er die Fondsanalyse für Fund-of-Hedge Funds aufgebaut und diese bis  Oktober 2015 geführt.  Als „Global Head of Investment Content“ bei Wealth Management der UBS übernahm er zusätzlich die Fondsanalyse der Fixed Income, Multi-Asset und komplexen Anlagefonds. Seit 2005 war er verantwortlich für das Portfoliomanagement von grossen Hedge Fund-of-Funds wie auch von Fixed Income Portfolios.

Franz Gysin wirkte in verschiedenen Anlagekommitees mit und leitete zwischen 2002 und Oktober 2015 das „Global Investment Committee“ im Wealth Management der UBS.

Richard Marshall, Senior Portfolio Manager Absolute Return Government Bond Fund (ARGBF), Standard Life Investments

Working in the industry since 2000, Dr Richard Marshall began his proprietary trading career in 2000 at Mizuho Corporate Bank / Industrial Bank of Japan. He was initially hired as a senior-quant to build the banks algorithmic trading platform and develop the bank’s official valuation and risk database for OTC option products, which was subsequently rolled out globally. He went on to write bespoke products and solutions for several of the discretionary proprietary traders, the success of which lead to a trading mandate. Over time he has become a cornerstone of the propriety team and is asked to carry out additional duties, such as representing the risk taking team at management meetings & presenting reports to senior management on market, credit and funding risk.

Ali Masarwah, Director, Editorial Research EMEA, Morningstar Europe

Ali Masarwah is editor-in-chief of the German language websites of Morningstar and Director of the EMEA editorial team. Before joining Morningstar in 2011, Ali was the editor of the financial journal portfolio international from 2003 to 2011. Held also the position of editorial director in the management team of the portfolio Verlag, a publishing house focused on institutional investors. Before that, he was team leader of the Competence Centre Mutual Funds at the financial newswires vwd in Frankfurt from 2001 to 2003. Ali earned a master degree in political science and history from the University of Cologne.

Enzo Puntillo, Head of Fixed Income, GAM

Enzo Puntillo is Head of the Fixed Income team and Portfolio Manager Fixed Income Emerging Markets. Prior to joining GAM Group in October 2005, he managed institutional bond and fund mandates at UBS Global Asset Management in Zurich with a focus on global emerging market debt and crossover products. Prior to that he was a fixed income trader at Paribas. Enzo Puntillo holds a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Applied Science of Basel and he is a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).

Didier Rabattu, head of equities, Lombard Odier Investment Managers 

Didier Rabattu is Head of equities and the Portfolio Manager for the LO Funds–Emerging High Conviction and LO Funds–Global Consumer within LOIM’s Equities Group. He joined in October 2011.

Prior to joining, Didier was a partner at Amber Capital and the portfolio manager of their ARC fund, a hedge fund focused on agriculture, retail and consumers. Previously, he was on the buy-side as partner at Talaris Capital from 2008 to 2010. Before that, he returned to Deutsche Bank as the global co-head of consumer and research on the investment banking side from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, he spent a year managing a hedge fund focused on global consumer and retail stocks at BGAM. Previously, he was at Deutsche Bank from 1995 to 2005, as global head for consumer and retail in the research department. He began his career as an analyst with a specialisation in consumer and retail stocks across Europe at SG Warburg in 1987. Didier is a member of the Société Française des Analystes Financiers (SFAF).

Vincent Rossier,Vice-president, Co-manager – JSS Bond – Total Return Global, J. Safra Sarasin Investmentfonds Ltd

Over 20 years of experience in investment. Co-managing of the fund. Worked at Pictet & Cie since 1998 as Head of Fixed Income Advisory. Prioir to that position he was a bond portfolio manager for discretionary accounts, specialising in corporate bonds. His earlier professional experience includes 4 years at Arthur Andersen as a senior financial auditor for financial institutions. Bachelor of Science in Mechanics from the Engineer School of Geneva and Master of Science in Business Management from University of Geneva.

Roger Rüegg, Portfoliomanager Rule based Solutions, Mitglied des Kaders, Swisscanto Invest by Zürcher Kantonalbank

Roger Rüegg ist seit 2011 im Asset Management bei Swisscanto Invest by Zürcher Kantonalbank tätig. Roger ist im Team Rule based Solutions zuständig für die proprietäre Aktien Welt Enhanced Strategie und bewirtschaftet 1.5 Milliarden in Fonds und Mandaten. Die Aktien Enhanced Strategie zeigte die letzten 10 Jahre in jedem einzelnen Jahr eine Überrendite zur Benchmark - eine einzigartige Konstanz.

Vor dem Eintritt ins Quant-Team absolvierte Roger das Trainee Programm der Zürcher Kantonalbank und ein Praktikum bei Systematic Alpha Management, einem kleinen Hedge Fund in New York.

Roger besitzt einen Master of Science in Quantitative Finance von der ETH und Universität Zürich und promoviert an der Universität Zürich in Banking und Finance.

Kevin Thozet, Product Specialist, Asset Allocation & Sovereign Debt, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management

Kevin Thozet is Product Specialist within the Asset Allocation & Sovereign Debt team, composed of 12 Portfolio managers/analysts.
He joined Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management in 2011 to set-up the RFP team and accompany the development of the company towards both French and International institutional clients. In 2015 he was appointed Product Specialist.
Previously, Kevin worked for Axa Investment Managers as Senior RFP Manager with special responsibility for international institutional clients. He holds a master’s degree in bilingual journalism and a master’s in management science.

Benoît Vaucher, Portfolio Manager, Systematic Equities, Lombard Odier Investment Managers

Benoît Vaucher is a Portfolio Manager in the Systematic Equities Team. He joined the firm in October 2014.

Prior to joining, Benoît was a quantitative analyst in charge of portfolio optimisation and strategy improvements in the equities investment team at Unigestion SA from 2011. He began his career as a developer at RiskMetrics, working on fixed-income performance attribution and yield curve modelling in 2010.

Benoît earned a doctorate in theoretical physics from Oxford University in 2008. He also holds an engineering degree in physics from EPFL in Lausanne and is a CFA Charterholder.

André Wuerth, Founder & Head of AS Asset Services SA, Dr. sc. soc. UZH/SNF

André Wuerth founded AS Asset Services SA in 1994. The company links communication to risk management in financial markets by measuring empirically stock market sentiment for both developed and Chinese stock markets. With three portfolios AS tracks the outperformance of the AS behavioural investment process. He topped his studies in Zurich, Geneva and Leipzig with a PhD, financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF). Later he was one of three researchers for the SNF study « Media, Emotions and Financial Markets ». He was also employed by Pictet in Geneva & Zurich and since 2003, has lectured at the University of Zurich in « Financial Markets as Communications Systems ». In 2015 he lectured in the same subject at the Tongji University in Shanghai and also studied Chinese at the Fudan University (HSK 3). He is married with three children.

Wang Xing Yi, Chief Representative in China of the Celsa Steel Group (import/export of raw material and machinery for steel making & investments) 

Wang Xing Yi studied Mechanical Engineering at Tongji University, Shanghai, one of the Top 10 Universities in China and holds an MBA (joint programme of Tongji University and ENPC, France). He was Visiting scholar in the USA (1993), and then worked for 2 years in Japan, studying Japanese at the same time. He was employed in a state owned design institute for many years before moving to various Chinese based foreign companies. These included Business Manager at Sumitomo Heavy Industry (China) Co. Ltd, Purchasing Manager in Babcock Borsig Power GmbH (Germany)‘s Beijing Office and Director of Supply Chain Management of the Swiss company Ammann Construction Machine (Shanghai) Co. He grew up in Xian, then spent some time in Beijing and now lives in Shanghai. He has also visited many western countries. He is married with one daughter, who lives in London. His wife owns a company which exports products from China to Europe mainly, but also to Africa.
